Climbing

Climbing is at the center of my life right now. Whenever I go out bouldering or rope climbing, my camera is always with me. Here are a couple of shots from around Helena.

We got out climbing several times over break and here is the frosty scene up at Blue Cloud Spires.

Soren and I making "art" as Brent clings for dear life on Book of Payne 5.8.

Me on top rope on a 5.11b finger crack. It worked me.

Orofino Gulch bouldering 10 minutes south of Helena. Solid granite and southern exposure make this a great winter spot. This me heel hooking around an arete with Soren acting like he isnt spotting me.

Here is Soren on the overhang, he later ate shit.

Sweet crash pad? I spent all of my money on a camera, so thats my excuse of the $8 pad.

Sheep Mountain is right by Clancy. Offers a lot of bouldering and multipitch crack climbing on granite. Solid spot.

Soren working a wicked finger crack at Sheeps. 5.11hard for sure.

Rainbow Trad

This shot was taken around Billings, offers a lot of sandstone bouldering and crack climbing.

Introduction

I started taking photos with my father's old Minolta. Then a point and shoot Olympus. Now I'm working with a Rebel XTi. Three very different cameras if you ask me. The majority of my work revolves around Mother Nature and what it offers to the eyes. My hobbies revolve around these wooded playgrounds, so if its climbing, mountain biking or backpacking, the photo elements is always there. I'm majoring in Forestry and minoring in Photography at the University of Montana, staying close to home and enjoying what the mountains have to offer.
